Frangelico 700ml

Frangelico is a hazelnut liqueur from Piedmont in northern Italy, made with Tonda Gentile hazelnuts. It's sweet, nutty and smooth, and you'll recognise it on any shelf by its friar-shaped bottle, complete with a rope belt.

Origin: According to legend, Frangelico draws on recipes made by monks in northern Italy more than 300 years ago. The hazelnuts come from the Langhe hills of southern Piedmont, an area famous for growing some of Italy's finest nuts.

How it's made: The hazelnuts are shelled, toasted and crushed, then infused in alcohol and water. The infusion is distilled and blended with cocoa, coffee and vanilla distillates and extracts.

Tasting notes: Pale gold in the glass, with intense toasted hazelnut on the nose. The palate is light and smooth, with hazelnut, vanilla and a hint of chocolate, and the finish is long and fragrant.

How to serve: Serve it over ice with a squeeze of lime, add a measure to hot coffee, or pour it over vanilla ice cream for a simple affogato. It also works well in an Espresso Martini. Contains hazelnuts.
