About this product
Ferreira Porto Ruby — a young, fruit-driven Port from one of the most storied houses in the Douro, fortified to 19.5% ABV.
Ferreira has been producing Port since 1751 and is closely associated with the Douro's history, including the role of Dona Antónia Ferreira in shaping the region in the 19th century. Ruby Port is the youngest, freshest style — blended and aged briefly in large vats to preserve vivid fruit character rather than developing through long wood ageing.
Deep ruby-red in colour, with vibrant aromas of red berries, plum and a touch of spice from fortification. The palate is sweet, full-bodied and warming, with the fortifying spirit balanced by ripe fruit and a smooth finish.
Serve slightly chilled as an aperitif or with dessert — particularly chocolate-based puddings — or alongside blue cheese, a classic Portuguese pairing.
